Fabric is an independent journal that examines incarceration through a variety of critical writing and art practices. Foundational to the journal’s focus is the understanding for an urgent need to end all forms of confinement by fostering new ways of thinking through concepts of justice and accountability. Fabric provides space for dialogue on these ideas, and acknowledges the role that the arts can play in making meaningful contributions to movements for social change. The journal aims to draw new audiences into these conversations and expand the contexts in which discussions of prison abolition might appear. New issues are published intermittently.
