We’ll be raising funds for Biblioteca Francisco Morazán, a newly formed self-organized library and space for learning—located in an ex-cinema in Morazán, El Salvador—whose work and collection focuses on local authors, historic memory, and educational resources + workshops. As the authoritarian Bukele regime closes “casas de cultura” and cuts funding throughout the country, BFM picks up the discarded books and builds towards what their community needs, with a emphasis on national + local literature and self-publishing tools for youth.
