"In the middle of a change in administration in Mexico in 2019, “La partida”* visually recounts the experience of a Mexican-Cuban couple as they navigate the application for a Family Unity Visa towards residency in Mexico. Through constructed photography, documents, screenshots and Whatsapp files, we accompany the characters through their bureaucratic adventure seasoned with technological failures, corruption and transnational love. "

*In Spanish “partida” has several meanings, some being: “to leave a place”, “a game round”, “a certificate” and “something divided”.

"En medio de un cambio de gobierno en México en 2019, "La partida" narra visualmente la experiencia de una pareja mexicana-cubana mientras tramita la solicitud de una Visa por Unidad Familiar en México. A través de fotografía construida, documentos, capturas de pantalla y archivos de Whatsapp, acompañamos a los personajes en su aventura burocrática aderezada con fallas tecnológicas, corrupción y amor transnacional."
